3-Ingredient BBQ Baked Chicken Legs

Chicken legs are naturally juicy and forgiving, making them perfect for simple recipes that still deliver big flavor. This version uses just three main ingredients—chicken legs, BBQ sauce, and seasoning—and pairs them with quick microwave-steamed veggies or a bagged salad for a complete meal in under an hour.

Ingredients (Serves 4):

• 8 chicken legs (drumsticks)

• 240 ml (1 cup) BBQ sauce (your family’s favorite brand)

• ½ tsp salt + ½ tsp pepper

• Optional sides:

  • 300 g frozen mixed vegetables (peas, corn, carrots)

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 bag pre-washed salad mix + dressing of choice

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 200 °C (400 °F).

2. Season chicken: Pat chicken legs dry, sprinkle with salt and pepper.

3. Add sauce: Place in a baking dish and coat generously with BBQ sauce, turning to cover all sides.

4. Bake: Roast uncovered for 40–45 minutes, turning once halfway, until cooked through (internal temp 74 °C / 165 °F).

5. Cook veggies: While chicken bakes, place frozen vegetables in a microwave-safe bowl with butter. Cover and microwave for 4–5 minutes, stirring halfway.

6. Serve: Plate chicken legs with a scoop of veggies or a handful of salad.
