  1. Prepare the Sausages:

    • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the sausages and cook, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes. Reduce heat if needed to prevent burning. Once cooked, set the sausages aside.
  2. Make the Mashed Potatoes:

    • Place the peeled and chopped potatoes in a large pot of cold, salted water.
    • Bring the water to a boil and cook the potatoes until they are tender when pierced with a fork, approximately 15-20 minutes.
    • Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
    • Add the milk and butter to the pot and mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.
  3. Prepare the Onion Gravy:

    • In a separate saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-low heat.
    • Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
    • Sprinkle the flour over the caramelized onions and stir to combine.
    • Slowly pour in the beef or vegetable broth while stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
    • Add Worcestershire sauce and continue to simmer until the gravy thickens, about 5-10 minutes.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Serve:

    • To serve, place a generous portion of mashed potatoes on each plate.
    • Top with sausages and ladle the onion gravy over the sausages and potatoes.
