Sticky Beef & Green Bean Mince Stir‑Fry

A flavorful, family‑friendly dish using 85v/minced beef (lean around 85% meat), transformed into a hearty meal with green beans and sticky sauce. It’s fast, satisfying and great served over steamed rice or noodles. You could also shell it up in lettuce wraps, or spoon it over mashed potatoes for a twist.

Ingredients (serves 4):

  • 500 g minced beef (approx. 85% lean)

  • 1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil

  • 2 tsp garlic (minced or paste)

  • 2 tsp ginger paste or grated

  • 200 g green beans, trimmed and halved

Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)

  • 3 tbsp dark soy sauce (or regular)

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 2 tbsp runny honey

  • 100 ml water

For serving:

  • Steamed rice or noodles

  • Optional: sesame seeds, sliced spring onion

Instructions:

  1. Prep sauce: In a small jug, whisk cornflour with soy, oyster sauce, honey, and water until smooth.

  2. Cook mince & veg: Heat oil in a large frying pan or wok over medium‑high heat. Brown the minced beef, breaking up lumps, until nearly cooked through (4–5 min). Drain excess fat if needed.

  3. Add garlic, ginger, and green beans to the beef. Stir‑fry for another 4–5 minutes until beans are tender‑crisp.

  4. Finish with sauce: Pour in prepared sauce, raise heat to high, and stir continuously until sauce thickens and coats all ingredients (2–3 min).

  5. Remove from heat. Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onion if using.

Seasoning & Serving:

  • Season gently with salt and pepper to taste—soy sauce and oyster sauce add plenty of savoury depth already.

  • Serve hot over fluffy steamed rice or cooked noodles.

  • For variation, serve as lettuce wraps or over mashed potatoes for a mash‑and‑mince twist.
